Apollinaire Theatre Company Presents
Allison Moore's "Slasher"

The first production of the new season for Apollinaire Theatre Company will be "Slasher," presented October 14 - November 5 at Chelsea Theatre Works, 189 Winnisimmet St., Chelsea.  The "horrifying comedy" was the hit of 2009's Humana Festival of New American Plays at the Actors Theater of Louisville.

What's it all about?  Well, when Shena's cast as the "last girl" in a low-budget slasher flick, she thinks it's the big break she's been waiting for. But news of the movie unleashes her malingering mother's thwarted feminist rage, and Mom is prepared to do anything to stop filming...even if it kills her.

Directed by Danielle Fauteux Jacques and A. Vincent Ularich, the production features Jessica Martens, Erin Eva Butcher, Danielle Jacques, Casey Preston, Nathaniel Taylor, Kate Mock Elliott and Alexandra Marie Harrington

Playwright Allison Moore is a displaced Texan living in Minneapolis, where she is a Core Member of The Playwrights' Center. Her plays include "Hazard County," "Eighteen," "Urgent Fury," T"he Strange Misadventures of Patty," "Cow Town," and "American Klepto." Her work has been developed or read at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Williamstown Theatre Festival, InterAct Theatre, and Manhattan Theatre Club; and produced at the Cherry Lane Alternative, Kitchen Dog Theatre, Actor's Express, Actors Theatre of Louisville and The Playwrights' Center, among others.

The performance has a running time of 90 minutes.  Each performance will be followed by a reception with the actors in the Gallery. For tickets and information, call 617-887-2336 or visit www.apollinairetheatre.com.
