Metro Stage Revisits "A Little Night Music"
October 15 - 21 in Cambridge

Metro Stage Company, continuing its tradition of offering Sondheim in the fall, will present “A Little Night Music,” from October 15 - 21 at the Cambridge Family YMCA Theater in Central Square.

The Tony Award-winning musical, perhaps best known for "Send In The Clowns," features a cast of award-winning Boston-area actors, led by Maryann Zschau, making her directorial debut with Metro Stage. Choreography is by Rachel Bertone.

The cast includes Joelle Kross, Jim Fitzpatrick, Gary Ryan, Jaime Steinbach, Tracy Nygard, Lenni Kmiec, Alexandra Dietrich, John Coons, Robert Case, Scott Keenan, Kathryn McKellar, Mary O'Donnell, Shana Dirik, and Isabelle Miller.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, “A Little Night Music,” won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The story involving the romantic intermingling of a series of couples at an elegant country estate is currently enjoying a successful revival on Broadway where it stars Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch. Inspired by the Ingmar Bergman film "Smiles of a Summer Night," "Night Music" had its out-of-town tryout at Boston's Colonial Theatre prior to originally opening on Broadway in 1973.

Artistic Director Robert Case commented, “Our audiences love Sondheim in the fall. We are thrilled to offer this wonderful production, featuring a truly stand-out cast including Shana Dirik, who won the IRNE last year for Best Actress in a Musical for our production of ‘Sweeney Todd.’"
