Huntington Announces Final 2005-2006 Shows

Artistic Director Nicholas Martin has announced the two additions to the Huntington Theatre Company's 2005-06 Season: Christopher Hampton’s hit 1987 play, "Les Liaisons Dangereuses;" and the East coast premiere of Mat Smart’s new play, "The Hopper Collection."   Both shows will be presented at the Boston University Theatre.

"Les Liaisons Dangereuses" is based on the 1789 Laclos de Chodleros novel of lust and intrigue amid the parlors and boudoirs of 18th century France.  The production will star television and theatre actor Michael T. Weiss, who appeared in "Burn This" for the Huntington last fall.

"The Hopper Collection" is the story of a married woman obsessed by an encounter with New England artist Edward Hopper.  A painting the artist gave her becomes the catalyst for a series of life-changing events, including the arrival of a young man who believes the piece will reunite him with his long-lost love.  This drama by award-winning playwright Mat Smart was featured in the Huntington's 2005 Breaking Ground Festival of new plays.
