American Voices Presents "All My Sons"
May 16 at The Shubert

Noted stage, film and television actor Blair Brown will be featured in a reading of the Arthur Miller classic, “All My Sons,” on May 16 at the Shubert Theatre. The performance is at 7 p.m., to be followed by a short question and answer session. “All My Sons” is the final reading in the popular American Voices: Drama, Dialogue, Downtown series.

The first great success of Arthur Miller’s legendary career, “All My Sons” is a compelling story of love, guilt and the corrupting power of greed. Set in the wake of World War II, an all too perfect American family is forced to face reality when their secret is revealed. The story of unprincipled self-indulgence explores the conflicts and passions aroused when a family discovers that their eldest son, lost in the war, may have been a victim of his father’s wartime profiteering.

Blair Brown, who will read the part of Kate Keller, is best known to audiences for her title role in the acclaimed NBC series “The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd,” for which she received four Emmy nominations and a Cable Ace Award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Series. Her Broadway credits include “Copenhagen’ (Best Featured Actress in a Play), James Joyce’s “The Dead,” “Arcadia,” “Threepenny Opera” and “The Secret Rapture.”

Audience members who attend “All My Sons” are invited to register for one of three free acting master classes, to be held on the evenings of Tuesday, May 17, Wednesday, May 18, and Thursday, May 19. The classes are open to participants of all acting abilities 14 years and older. Registration is first-come, first served, and will be held during intermission at the “All My Sons” reading. Participants must attend the play reading to register; advance registration is not available.

Tickets, ($10 general admission; $5 college students and seniors; free to Wang Center members) are on sale at the Shubert Theatre box office, 265 Tremont Street, by calling 800-447-7400 or visiting www.wangcenter.org.
