New Panel Series from
Boston University - Huntington Theatre
Kicks Off September 22

A new panel series, entitled American Theatre at a Crossroad, is coming to the Huntington Theatre beginning on September 22, at 7:30 p.m. Conceived and moderated by Robert Brustein and co-hosted by the Huntington, the series will begin with the program, Future Directions for the Resident Theatre.

Future Directions for the Resident Theatre will explore the growing, interrelated relationships between theatres and universities as well as non-profit theatre and Broadway. Topics for discussion will include: How can resident theatres navigate between academicism and commercialism? What is the obligation of resident theatres to training, audience development and the nurturing of artists?

Panelists for the evening will include: Nicholas Martin, Huntington Theatre Company; Robert Orchard, American Repertory Theatre; Emily Mann, McCarter Theatre; Oskar Eustis, Trinity Repertory Company; and Jim Petosa, Director, BU’s School of Theatre Arts

Tickets for the program are priced at $8 for the general public; $5 for Huntington, ART and Trinity Rep subscribers as well as the Boston University community; and free to all students with a valid I.D.
