New Repertory's Cabaret Evening

New Rep’s Spring Cabaret At Sculler's

Newton Highlands’ New Repertory Theatre is celebrating the most
successful season in its 18 year history with a cabaret benefit performance.

"Stephen Sondheim's Music of the Heart, A Spring Cabaret" will be presented Tuesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m.at Sculler's Jazz Club in Boston's DoubleTree Hotel.

The evening will feature the stars of New Rep's hit production of “Sweeney Todd:” Nancy E. Carroll, Leigh Barrett, Evan Harrington, Todd Alan Johnson and Robert Zolli. They will be joined by special guest, Belle Linda Halpern, one of Boston's most popular cabaret artists. Todd Gordon will accompany on the piano. A dessert reception following the performance will offer the opportunity for audience members to meet the cast.

The evening will consist of love songs from such Sondheim musicals as “Company,” “Into the Woods,” Sunday in the Park with George,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Passion,” “Follies” among others.

Tickets, which include the performance, hors d'oeuvres and the after-performance reception, are $85 each or two for $160. Tables of four are priced at $300. Reservations, which are required, are available by calling 617-332-7058.

Programming at New Repertory Theatre is funded in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
